I Gave Her My Ring (and then she asked for another carrot)
Oh, man.

Wedding Photos for Horsey!Wife

My SO said that I spend so much time working outside with the horses I should marry her.. so I did... matching rings, a little ceremony and all. I couldnt resist.

Comments range from: How can I, too, get an appropriate ring for my lover to Please stop being an asshat

People quote the Terms and Conditions of the site (stop being a hata!), argue that it's not hurting anyone (with special argument over affect -vs- effect, express how offended they are, and argue about OMG censorship.

There's more, but my head hurts.

I'm gonna go make a salad now. With carrots. Lots of carrots.

ETA: She totally meant it!
I think all things considered such a commitment is a human ceremony and I would wager she was indiffrent but she stood there and rested her head on my knee. I would like to think she knew it was something special or atleast did it for me. I laugh when I look at the state of the world... we probibly take our marrage more serously than most people do looking at statistics anyway.

But I think what is important to her is when I share my coffee with her in the mornings, when I hug her after I get home every day without fail, the times she has slept with her head on my chest, when I canceled all my appointments and sat up all day with her because she had a sore hoof. The first time she broke into the house when I was sick and she stood by the bed, when she seeks me out when I am upset because she just knows and gives me a shoulder to cry on, me knowing just where that one itchy spot is she cant reach. In the end these are things that have meaning. If things like this dont make a relationship I dont know what does.

Its a long story but in many ways she saved my life just as I did hers in the begining I wouldnt know what to do without her

Well, this is completely uninformed, but I mean, we're mammals as well, and we drink coffee. I do know of some people who have poured coffee over their horses grain and the horse nibbled it.

So I agree with the idea that it's because they are smaller.

Well, this seems to indicate that it's definitely size-related. So I guess a horse could probably drink a cup of coffee and be okay. The site's focused on small animals, though.

I wonder if it'd be legal to do that to a racehorse.

Well, considering than an average racehorse will be around 1,400, give or take some, and the average human is a lot smaller than that, I don't know how much coffee you'd need to soak. I suppose you could try to crack open about two dozen caffeine pills and pour the stuff on the food, but I don't know how that would work either.
