When Captain Screamy meets Dr. Loud Bang
Rainn Wilson has a movie out in which he is not Dwight Schrute. It is called The Last Mimzy. Rainn Wilson rocks.

Okay, now that that's out of the way... Over on [info]customers_suck, [info]blackfroggy complains about customers who didn't alert them that the previews on the movie were rated R and not PG. Or at the least, failed to alert the theatre quickly enough. The fiance in the post ([info]teenonfire4lord, which sounds like the title of the sophomore album for Faith Plus One; despite the username, he's 23) shows up to defend his wronged beloved and calls the customers who were slow on the draw both lazy and bad parents. Many people point out that customer service is usually the responsibility of the staff, but neither of them will hear anything of it.

I'm actually not seeing that blackfroggy is in the wrong here. From what I understand, here's what went down --

(Parent emerges from theater, dragging kids out) Hey, the previews in this movie are rated R!
(Blackfroggy) Whoops, sorry! (Blackfroggy and other staff members scramble to do something about it)
(Parent continues to rant) And that reminds me, there were R-rated previews in a kids' movie last week too! How dare you! Apologize for that too!
(Blackfroggy thinks to self) Wait. It happened a week ago, but you're only telling us about it now?

I mean, suck all around, but I'm not seeing Blackfroggy doesn't have a point here.

It took me a little while to figure out what went down, but I think what happened it this:

Customer: I saw this rated R violent movie last week, and after watching four of the same previews I saw for that movie in front of the PG movie I expected to see now, I realized there was a problem I've come to tell you about it.

Blackfroggy: OMG WTF WHY DID YOU WAIT THROUGH FOUR PREVIEWS?!?!?!

...You don't think she's saying "omg wtf why did you wait a week"?

No, I don't think so. Since the customer saw a Special Sneak Preview of 23 last week, and is seeing the Special Sneak Preview of Mimzy now - at the time of the post. So unless she's garbling together two complaints, customer saw an R rated movie the previous week and recognized the previews when they went to see the Mimzy movie.

And her fiance/boyfriend/thing keeps saying 'they waited ten whole minutes!!!!!' in the comments.

But I could easily be wrong!

Huh, I thought it was that the patron had seen a Mimzy preview last week and (eventually) noticed that the previews were more adult-geared this time than they were last time.

Hell, I'm lucky if I can remember a preview after the next one has aired.

At long as we can all agree that it's totally the customer's fault!!!1!

I'm pretty sure he's saying that the previews were rated R because the movie normally playing in that particular room is rated R, and they just didn't remember to change them when they temporarily changed the actual movie from 23 to Mimzy?

I think it was Mimzy for both previews; I got an email from my local theatre a couple of weeks ago inviting me to a SPECIAL PREVIEW of a NEW FILM not ONCE BUT TWICE and I went "Eh..." Although like the OP here, Rainn Wilson would be the only thing compelling me to see this movie.

Nope, not at all.

This was my understanding of it as well.

That, and me wondering if The Last Mimzy is so freaking amazing that someone would see not one but two sneak previews of it before general release.
