1) Nobody is threatening you with the judicial system. It's just there. If you feel threatened by it, that's your issue.
Now I'm imagining the judicial system as a mafia strongarm. He stands there and breathes over your shoulder until you pay up--maybe he's even beating his fist against his palm--but hey, he's not actually doing anything to you.
