julesnoctambule ([info]julesnoctambule) wrote in [info]otf_wank,
Reminds me of this chick who was on a forum I used to be a part of, one where people could(and did) sig pictures.

Half my monitor would routinely be taken up by ginormous pictures of someone's kid/dog/whatever and it seemed that the larger the pictures, the less the poster had to say.
Scrolling past six pics of someone's kids playing in mud and a dozen blinking banners about how much weight they've lost just to see all they posted was 'LOL!1!' was not fun.

At any rate, whenever anyone in the group mentioned putting a cap on file sizes(we had some members in places like Africa, where internet rates were by-the-minute), this particular flavour of idiot would pop up out of nowhere and begin a tirade much like [info]aegion's.

Never mind that the pictures made the server sluggish or that viewing them was a waste of time for most people and money for others, apparently she believed that sig files the size of small countries were a RIGHT and not caring about how your choices impact others was about FREEDOM. In her mind as well, only those who could access and afford a fast connection/brand-new computer were worthy of being on the internet.

Makes me wonder -- if my car is faster than the cars of people like that, does it mean I get to run them over?
