[info]mouthfulofrain posts in [info]metaquotes a quote on music and genitals, in mockery of Dragonforce. I first see the 200+ comment mark and think I guess oh no you didn't on Dragonforce?

mouthful's icon (which makes this post all NSFW) is what's causin' such a stir. First two comments are of the 'OMG MY EYES' variety, while third-one's-the-charm [info]startsong starts off the good 'ole fight with an I'm not okay with this on my flist

Does no one read the profiles when they join anymore? Metaquotes clearly says that it is not safe for work. Still, every couple months some yahoo posts a "OMG this isn't safe for work" rant. Then, the mods come out and say "it's not supposed to be" and oldtimers say "LOL noobs" the wank starts anew.

I love all the people complaining that they've been watching metaquotes for months, and it's ALWAYS been work-safe!

Newsflash: the community has been around for years, and has never been renowned as being particularly work-safe; in fact, even before the edit, the rules (basically, without spelling it out) said that it wasn't.

Awww, I remember that one time when the propeller icon was guest on F_W, toplevel icon and all.

It's an exquisite experience when the "Liberty! Liberty! Liberty!" and the "Dun have fun at work!" chorus sing together. When I listen to that chant and close my eyes I can see the last alliance of Ewoks and Sith Lords marching into battle, side by side. ♥

Why do people not just disable images? Not that I have time to netsurf at work anymore, but when I did, that was standard operating procedure, yo. Everyone is on and on about adblock, and then there's all the "OMG I CANT DL THAT AT WORK IDIOT" but doesn't turning off images work just as well?

Right?
