	Does no one read the profiles when they join anymore? Metaquotes clearly says that it is not safe for work. Still, every couple months some yahoo posts a "OMG this isn't safe for work" rant. Then, the mods come out and say "it's not supposed to be" and oldtimers say "LOL noobs" the wank starts anew. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Well, I am part of the metaquotes communtiy, and have been for a couple years, so yes, you will find that I post there occasionally. I will rarely be part of the wanks, but next month, if there is another post whining about how NSFW a quote or icon is, you will most likely again find me there, saying "Read the userinfo!" regardless of whether it gets posted here.

It's a sorta my pet peeve.

Yes, there is now an official stamp. But before there was a huge paragraph in the Userinfo about how if your boss fired you, or your momma caught you because of this journal, it wasn't their fault, and they really didn't care.

Alright, This is the Official Word of Mod:

If your boss catches you reading metaquotes, looking at this icon, or posting on Furbid on her/his office's computer, it's your own damn fault and I don't want to hear the bitching.

If your spouse is upset you're trawling for porn or engaging in cybersex or otherwise using the computer to get off, it's your own damn fault and I don't want to hear the bitching.

If your college roomate looks over your shoulder and starts making fun of you because you're reading angst!Spuffy before the big football game or your little sister finds you've been writing a Malfoy "no safe words" sockpuppet and her brain gets broken- it's your own damn fault and I don't want to hear the bitching.

If your parents are mad you looked up anything besides sweet Lord Jesus and Our Holy Quest to Rid the Land of Unbelievers, that's not your own fault, and I totally feel for you, but we all went through this crap with our parents along similar lines so that we could learn later in life what the "Clear History" option is, what "Alt-Tab" does, and other things to erase our tracks or distract the nosy so when we do bathe our filthy minds in pseudosatanic FurFuck LexKal metaporn, no one knows about it and it's our own little cherished kernel of naughtiness.

So no, the actual "NSFW" was not there, but I think that the point is made pretty clear.
