How do these people take themselves so seriously? Unless I've gravely misunderstood the genre, Romance Novels are written and read as escapism, not literature. You'd really expect people who can't write a book without using the phrases "supple breasts" and "throbbing manhood" to have a sense of humour about what they do.

Uh... not that I read a lot of romance novels or anything.
