That completely baffled me. Putting aside the squick factor, dude! It's your own body! It's not killing a living thing! And in fact, evolutionarily, it's part of its function to replenish the mother's nutrients. I mean, I think the people actually do it are kinda odd, but it's harmless. I just don't understand the justification there. Is it just... nothing from anything living goes inside your body, even if it's yours? So can vegans get organ or blood transplants? Or hell, can they even get their own blood cleansed and then cycled back in to their body, or is it once it's out, it's out? Or does it just count if you eat it? Can you not be a vegan if you bite your nails?

These are the questions that keep me up at night, really.
