More Cuteoverload wank
I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet.

Yesterday on Cute Overload a series of pictures featuring a fat tuxedo cat draped over a couch.

On the second comment involves how unhealthy it is for a cat to be so fat.

Over 400 comments later ranging from it's still a healthy weight for a cat, personal anecdotes, feline and human obesity and vegetarianism.

I think my personal favorite is

2. I don't want to get into the whole Darwin thing, but there is only about a 2% difference in our DNA and the DNA of monkeys. Monkeys are vegans.

After watching 'Are You Smarter than A 5th Grader' for a few weeks now, a comment like that really doesn't surprise me anymore. *is still in shock over that woman who didn't know that Canada was the country north of the US*

that woman who didn't know that Canada was the country north of the US

Suddenly all my problems with geography seem so much smaller. . .God that's just amazing.

WHAT.

Please tell me you're joking. Or that they go through America looking for all the dumbest people to be on the show.

I think the second option is pretty likely.

The show would be less entertaining if all the contestants WERE smarter than the kids.

Either that or they find relatively moderate people, spin them around a bunch and play a pinata game, make them watch Adult Swim for a few hours, and then give them lots of booze before filming.

Any Geography question is instant fail on that show. I've only ever seen like two people who know that subject.

You know, I'd watch that show way more often if it didn't take them five minutes to do one. single. question. Were it faster-paced, it would be really quite amusing.

Oh god yes! After every freaking question there's a commerical and then there's all this stalling while the person tries to figure out what country pandas come from (Japan apparently. China? What country is that?). I've started taping it and use fast forward.

You know, I took an online geography quiz the other day and could only place 10 African nations. I felt stupid and vowed to educate myself a bit more. Now I don't.

Can I call vegans 'monkey people' from now on?

I feel better about the fact that I can't label all the Canadian provinces now.

I bet I could get all the American states right if I had a map to look at. I tend to remember them by appearance more than actual location (you have some very weirdly shaped states. Most of our provinces I'm pretty sure were divided with a ruler until someone's hand got tired.).

That's why I feel smarter after I started student teaching fifth grade. I can say with confidence that all thirty-eight kids I see on a daily basis are smarter than my grown-up roommate.

Someone needs to tell the chimpanzees that they're monkeys and that they need to stop killing/eating other animals.

Not it.

... I have never heard of this show before but now I desperately need to watch it. That sounds HILARIOUS.
