Specifically, some black girl didn't want to sit next to anyone, tried to make him give up his seat-with an empty one next to him-and he made fun of her in a very House-like way. Everyone hastens to call BS. Incidentally, all little old ladies speak English, and GridLore doesn't get to complain because

And I still say that Native Americans (or Indians, or the People, or North American Aboriginals, or whatever the hell they're being called this week) can pretty much trump most woe-is-me my-people-were-so-oppressed whining.

Okay, your great-great Grandma's entire family were slaves. You, over there, the first of your ancestors on this continent was beaten twice a week for the temerity of having an unacceptable accent and couldn't really get a job.

Any high-school history student could tell you that. There are probably more than a few smaller tribes that it did,/i> work on, that are gone forever. *shrug*

Or hell, the Jewish. Not so long ago they were the victims of literal systematic attempted genocide. And y'know? While I hear them fighting to make sure it's acknowledged and dealt with... I really rarely hear them whine about it. And most of the ones that I see get really upset about it? Are either the ones that were ACTUALLY THERE, or they have family only one generation removed who were. Heck, the only Jewish fellow I've ever met as an adult... if he'd tried to play the race card for something small and casual, I seriously believe his mother would have put him down like a dog. Simply Not Acceptable Behavior.

I mean, I'm Scottish, German, Swedish, Cherokee, Lakota, French, and Comanche. I figure about half of my bloodline came screaming out of the wilderness to slaughter/enslave/rape/oppress/make really bad food for the other half, and most of them kind of took it in turns. It'd be really hard for me to play the race card when half my bloodline is Teh Evol Ones, even were I enough of a moron to be so inclined.
