Every once in a while I go with something that could be termed a mini-skirt, but I too have enormous wobbly thighs, plus am entirely uncomfortable wearing anything that short without tights or nylons of significant opacity. Also it's fucking cold here most of the year. (I did not realize the last time I wore my mini-length (US) jumper that the stockings I wore under it were so sheer as to be invisible, until my friend started groping my knees in amazment because he had not realized I was wearing more on my legs than the kneesocks. That was an interesting night.)
