Yes, because DaveCake is behind the wheel I believe, and he's set on making it awesome.

I'm not a huge anime fan, but I do love it. If that makes sense. I eat up Miyizaki's movies with a spoon and I love Evangelion and a lot of mecha cartoons. And I will sit down and watch Sailor Moon, Ghost in the Shell, that sort of thing. But the inherent misogyny involved in Japanese culture tends to put me off. I hate vacant, agreeable female characters (Rei was a fucking TWAT) and they're all too common in Japanese cartoons. Plus I get annoyed by the way emotions tend to be portrayed in anime - it's always over the top thanks to the Japanese taste for drama. That said, most of the animation is really fantastic and I enjoy the artistry of it. It's a complicated topic for me (much like mainstream comics). A passion and many piss-offs all mixed up. :D

You should come to Waicon, beyond anything else it is cheap. And also lots of neat costumes, which makes me happy.

It's a very different creature to Swancon, Swancon is old and comfortable, Waicon is a bit hyperactive-nuts but that gives it a real zing. I'd probably go to Swancon if I could only choose one, because I love that weekend to just... have fun, be comfortable, but Waicon is great because of its youth.

Also I am an anime fan, so, eh. (I too have issues with it, but for me the YAY outweighs the issues. Though I'm not reading/watching half as much as I used to, but I still identify as an anime fan primarily most of the time.)
