Oh, Arabic is fun that way. You've got your classical/standard Arabic, which they use on TV and in print and the Qur'an and NOWHERE ELSE EVER. If you speak in classical Arabic you will be MOCKED. That's when you gotta learn the particular dialect of whatever country in which you intend to talk to people, the vocabulary of which often bearing little relation to the SUPPOSED REAL FUCKING LANGUAGE.

Like, in Egyptian dialect? The word for "car" is basically the word for "Arabic." NO I DO NOT KNOW WHY.
