[info]aria_star says in a thread in [info]inbetweenies On my mom's side, I'm a direct descendant of Pocahontas and of a black slave... thus making this officially the stupidest "I'm not racist but..." argument I've ever seen in my life. Mind you, the whole post is made of crazy, so there's more than just race wank, there's size wank too. Enjoy!

I really adore the scale in the original post.

Thin means curves and Emaciated means 'so thin she thinks you have an eating disorder'. Clearly, there is no in-between there. Oh, the irony.

I think Kate Winslet and Catherine Zeta Jones are, you know, NORMAL? Not fat and not thin? Just - regular ol' chicks!

But then again, while you and I thinnk they're normal, the industry that employs them considers them heavy. Something doesn't compute.

Well, that's because the industry is fucked up. But there's nothing you can do about weirdos like that.

I'ma gonna sit here. And appreciate Kate and Catherine's 'fat bits' some more.

Which is why I am so 'surprised' she'd label them 'thin'. I mean, yes, if you call them thin, I'd probably count as anorexic with my 20.5 BMI.

with my 20.5 BMI

Gah, you too?

I'm 19 something, but I'm also under 5ft and around 90lbs. I suppose most of that is fat.

I don't understand why people envy my size. It's a pain in the ass to shop for clothes.

Hon, everyone has trouble shopping for clothes. I don't see how clothing makers supposedly strive for the average measurements if I haven't met a women yet who finds clothes easily.

A friend who used to work in the industry says that the fit models are frequently transvestites.

Oi, that sounds like clothes shopping would be tough indeed. I'm lucky to be a little taller and heavier than that!

I FEEL OPPRESSED BY UR BMI!!

Seriously, her view is all fucked up. She used to be oppressed for being 400lb, but now she's more oppressed for being roundish? The hell?

I believe I am a US 12 or possibly 10, but nobody's telling me to lose weight (or is "loose" the correct term these days). So therefore I cannot be one of these "in betweenies" and yet I am also not thin or emaciated! *Or* fat! OMG won't someone PLEASE give me something to feel oppressed about?!

I adore Kate Winslet, mostly because she had the balls to get pissed and make a public rant over magazines airbrushing her to make her look thinner.

I'd probably do it too if I were in magazines and people were airbrushing me.

I think she got mad when they said she'd been seeing special people in LA about a diet or plastic surgery or something, and she was mad because she says in interviews, over and over again, that she's happy with her bod and she'd never do that stuff.

I also believe that Emma Thompson once said that she'd never speak to her again if she ever lost weight (deliberately). Which is one of the many reasons why she, too, is fabulous.

I like UK celebs cause they seem to have a lot of fun and they're not quite as fucked up in the body image department as their US counterparts.

It's like it was set up on purpose to make the "in-betweenies" appear to be the most oppressed and friendless, woe are they, all the fat people hang out together and the skinny people hang out together and they are all by their lonesomes.

And anybody who thinks a size 10 is "upper end of thin Hollywood" is smoking crack.

Maybe 50 years ago, but certainly not anymore.

I also fail to see how the "in-betweenies" are so oppressed. At least not more than any other women out there (and increasingly men) in a society that dictates you can never be thin enough.

Exactly. She just wants to play her violin. If you're breathing, you're probably "oppressed" in some way.

And strangely I've never chosen my friends based on weight and size. My college friends spanned roughly 4 to 24. I don't know what planet she lives on where that's the primary criterion.

Exactly. One of my best friends and I are size 26 and size 4. I have friends of all different sizes. I don't just befriend those of similar weight as I.

The upper end of thin Hollywood is more like a 6-4. But only a 6-4 with big boobs and a thin waist because then they're "curvy."

Valerie Bertinelli is, what, a 14? And she started this major I HATE MYSELF FOR BEING FAT publicity junket. Granted, it's like Kirstie Alley: she doesn't have much going for her career other than the "fat actress" VH-1 circuit.
