I actually hadn't heard of that until I moved to WA and started talking to linguists (well, they're the only people who do fieldwork who I talk to) doing fieldwork with native Americans in Canada. I sort of assumed it was a Canadian thing.

Then again there's basically no Native Americans in Los Angeles so we don't talk about them down there, which could also be the issue!

	I've never heard of it either, and I do have Native American in my background. I do think it depends on where you live and who you come in contact with. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
