I'm a vegetarian, and I have to admit, when I went to Spain, I ate fish and poultry. ...Because it's entirely possible that different cultures have differnt definitions of what "vegetarian" means. In Spain, they gave me no red meat when I said I was veggie. And, since there was little to nothing without ANY sort of meat in it there, I just ate poultry and fish. I had to decide whether my American way of eating would be too ethnocentric in a foreign culture. My answer was YES. Christ, the guy who said he can cure asthma in 30 days sounds like the guy who told me he could "cure" my Tourette by realigning my spine. >__ Post a comment in response: |
