We're sorry you're not as good as us :(
Thank you to the anonymouse on wank_report for this one.

This post on [info]thequestionclub has [info]dream_king asserting (among other things) that one cannot be a mother and pro-choice, and that it’s up to women to deal with the problems of sex, i.e. pregnancy. It gets posted to stupid_free.

[info]pester is a stupid_free member who also likes being patronising, often with emoticons. It turns out that her husband is dream_king.

The result is lots of fun for everyone, including bonus gossip about the happy couple!

A few choice links:

Abortions yay!

Why would anyone live in a trailer let alone an unheated one?

Penises yay!

You're not a real Jew!

What say you, Canadians?

Very important question! Would you choose Jews or circumcision?

But you have to have an abortion in order to do so. Sorry, those are the rules.

I think you've hit it there. This comment certainly cements it. I love how she seems to decide that everyone different from her is just choosing what is easy and in fashion. It couldn't possibly be because they're doing what's right for them!

A few weeks ago we got into a tiff on TQC and she called my beliefs completely "freshman" when I called hers stupid and completey deserving of mocking.

I also love how she assumes people are atheists because it's easier.

/atheist who regularly laments her inability believe in god because things would be sooo much easier if she could believe there was someone up there with a plan and all that love and shit

But she's so edgy and mature! Way beyond the level of name-calling and picking fights on the internet! Why can't you see that? :(

All I know is that the atheist friends in my life are awesome and far more open-minded and forgiving that most people I've met.

(Try believing in chocolate. Chocolate can do no wrong, and it tastes delicious!)

My belief in Chocolate, however, is hindered by my belief in That Waist Must Be Smaller, Dammit. I truly cannot win.

Ah, but if you buy really good chocolate, I hear you don't eat as much. I would send you some of my 70% cocoa stuff if I could- I stock up whenever I see some on sale to keep for blah days. (I was amazed to find how well it works on both PMS and hangovers.)

I still don't like chocolate all that much but the really good stuff makes you feel a whole lot better. It's kind of like lasagne- the frozen shit? I could eat a boxful. The home made pan I just stuck in the oven? Two pieces, tops. I'm not sure why but it seems easier to eat a lot of processed food.

Um... this comment has evidentially been brought to you by the makers of nyah-nyah-nyah, sorry.

Oh, yes, dark chocolate. Not to mention that stuff is actually good for you with all the antioxidants.

(Speaking of which, if anyone wants really good and socially aware chocolate, Omanhene is a great company. We just had the CEO talk to our school. It's high quality, environmentally sound, and supports the people of Ghana.)

That's because it contains crack.

*nod*

(If I may wax serious for a moment, you're not the first to notice this. Hunting up what I've read on the subject is a bit too SRS BZNS, but suffice to say that processed food contains less actual, you know, FOOD than food you make yourself. They don't call 'em empty calories for nothing.)

Can I borrow them? No offense to atheists at all, but two of my closest friends who are athiest are fucking obnoxious about it and incredibly closed-minded toward Christianity. They sneer whenever the foul word touches their lips. Honestly.

Not to contradict this, but I have found that that religious-minded people who are open-minded and forgiving and generally cool tend to get mistaken for athiests. Cos they keep their personal spirituality, well, personal, and don't go around pushing it on people.

Alternately, atheists tend to think that any intelligent and clear-thinking person they meet SURELY cannot believe in an Invisible Sky Buddy.

Outing myself is fun.

Yes! Exactly! Thank you! I tried all growing up to be a good Catholic girl, but you can't force yourself to believe in something. It certainly hasn't been easy.

Dude! Can we swap faith systems? I keep listening to atheist arguments and saying "That makes perfect sense" but every time I try it out I end up thinking "ooh, God's going to be so pissed off with me for this" which is kinda incompatible with atheism.

Huh. I agree with a great number of atheist arguments and for some reason I don’t think God will be pissed off with me.

Which arguments, by the way?

You and me both. Or, well, I have many gods, so the pissed-off-ness can be spread around.

I don’t know what God wants of me, really. I mean, he’s God and he hasn’t said anything. About my personal performance, I mean.

Me, I generally find that after all the rational arguments and philosophical treatises, I basically face a choice — am I a Muslim or not?

Answer seems to be “Yes,” so far. Mind you, not a good Muslim, but them’s the breaks.

Well, to be fair, I generally think God's not too happy with me no matter what I do. My brain decided to mix up all its crazy into the God-fearing part, so probably the problem's more with me than with anything else.

No specific arguments come to mind. It's more whenever I talk to atheists I can't think of a decent counterargument. I try out atheism and feel pretty good until the "oh crap. God." moment.

I can so relate. I used to be an Orthodox Jew (yeah, I had pester's lifestyle, only I was nice and decent to people on the internet) and leaving left me with this crushing guilt, even though on most days I don't think G-d even exists. Yet I still would have to force myself to type his name with a vowel.

I don't know about your college, but at mine, yeah, there were lots and lots of lesbian vegans.

Wait wait wait, so when she said "easy" she was referring to being a lesbian and a vegan? Does she live in a bubble? A bubble filled with vegan lesbians who make her life really difficult? I guess it's been too long since I went to BC.

We should ask her about this bubble and whether others can make use it. Vegan lesbians who make one's life "difficult" sound like a lot of fun!

(But seriously, it's not easy being vegan and I can only imagine the difficulties for anyone who isn't straight in this world.)
