Remember, people should ask each other out. If someone doesn't ask you out, it means they don't like you.

Oh stupid_free. So unpredictable, yet still I know just what you're gonna do.

All this talk about nutrition...

I've been to a prison, on a school trip. We ate at their cafeteria. I've never felt sicker in my life.

I'm glad we never had to taste-test when I was visiting. Ugh. What was being served or do you remember?

Over-boiled eggs, green beans with the life stewed out of them, I think there may have been processed cheese sandwiches...

Like the worst school cafeteria you've even been in, but more so.

Oh boy, sounds tasty. Sounds like the food they serve the little kiddie punks in juvie eat better. At least they get fries from what I've seen.

I heard from teacher that some of the inmates take vitamins just to have good nutrition.

.. You been to prison, on a school trip??

Wow, and I thought our zoo trips were boring.

It was for Sociology. We went up to Brushy Mountain Maximum Security Prison on a rainy cloudy day and it terrified the fuck out of me.

Our teacher had sort of a...thing for prison and prison studies. At one point in class he asked us what movie we wanted to watch next and we said 'anything but a movie about jail'. The first day of class, he picked out the kid most likely to be raped in prison.

I'm not even kidding.

WTH. How about traumatizing. Then again, I bet you never did anything to end up in prison ;)

How old were you then?

This was last year. -_-

Yeah. No drugs, no drinking, no five finger discounts. And I know guys aren't the only ones assaulted in prison.

I went with my Corrections Process class and dude- I wish our prof had told us which one of us was most likely to be raped in prison.

It wasn't an experience I'd care to repeat. Made me physically ill, and that was before lunch.

I'll just blame it all on the fact that I am a person with a twisted view on reality I was a criminal justice major.

Not quite the same as most likely to get raped, but a teacher once let it slip that he considered me the most likely one to go snort cocaine.

Er, yay?

This sounds kind of like a twisted bit of high school superlatives.

...It really should have been what my school used. It would have made it more interesting, anyway. And I so deserved best hair, those bitches.

I took a day trip to Alcatraz (a deserted, crumbling box) and got severely creeped out. My sysmpathies on going to an LIVING prison.

It was like going to a horribly twisted human zoo. I think at one point I saw a prisoner going to the bathroom. Couldn't stand to meet their eyes but couldn't stop staring.

Oak Ridge High School. Only good school in all of Tennessee.

You never went? Hell, we went in...middle school, 7th or 8th grade I think. God the smell alone made me want to run far, far away. And that was at the cafeteria. I always wondered by middle schoolers had a field trip to jail. Maybe they thought it'd be easier to lock some of 'em up sooner rather than later.

I.. what. It really doesn't compute. We never went to a prison and I am pretty sure no school here has ever done that. That's just... but why???

I don't remember why. I didn't even remember going until this post. But yeah, we went. Then again, my school system was rather...odd anyway. They put the prison across the street from an elementary school, so you know. Brain function wasn't a high priority with them.

Maybe they think it'll discourage the kids from committing crime if they know what prisons are like?

some genius in our house of reps a couple months ago made a proposal that all 8th graders in the state would have to take a field trip to a prison. thankfully, nothing's come of it. because wtf why.

Man, I only got to go to the zoo in 8th grade, unless we went some in elementary school and I've just forgotten. Did go to prison, though, in, er, 10th grade, I think. 10th or 11th. A classmate's dad or uncle was in there at the time, too. (We didn't have to eat there, though. :D)

When I was in high school, we went to Kansas City for the national FFA con. My advisor thought it would be fun to take us to Leavenworth.

That's a fun memory. The guard at the guard shack looked at us like we were insane.

Prisons: Where you should always take underaged students.
