Precisely! Now I'm not going to defend the book as a whole, but I have met a good many people who needed to be told that they need to stop analyzing every single thing someone does for meaning. So many people talk themselves into and out of faux relationships that way and pass up other, better opportunities.

But yeah, there're lots better books that make that point in a better way. And really, I can't trust anyone who worked on Sex and the City for healthy relationship advice.
