So over on stupid_free, a post is made mocking a post in vaginapagina discussing using hydrogen peroxide to cleanse themselves. wieimmer starts off the fun with this:

Oh, gosh. I'm a girl and I totally cringed at that. Seriously, can there be a TMI note? As much as I appreciate vag-cleaning tips, I'd appreciate a bit of a warning before I click on that. D:

People basically tell wieimmer to grow up, and how could she consider the links TMI when it says right in the post what it's about. Things still aren't horribly wanky until this exchange takes place:

	Some girls actually are born with hymens that cover the whole opening - they have to be broken surgically before she hits puberty so she can menstruate properly. But that's pretty unusual. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

No, that's fine, I'm just saying I'm confused about what it is you are confused about.

You were responding to a post about hymens. Did you mean that you didn't know that they had a hole in them, or did you mean that you didn't know what a hymen even was? (And do NOT feel any embarassment about not knowing anything; I'm happy to help, I'm just trying to figure out what the question actually is.)

Good illustrations, but...

Wow, some of the rest of that site are sort of crazy. Like the stuff on Traumatic Masturbatory Syndrome!!! (which is actally completely unsupported by pretty much everyone.) He's also is terrified of anal sex or even going anywhere near your anus and repeatedly tells the kids asking him questions that it will lead to "distention of your rectum, bleeding, and excruciating pain". Damn, how did I never notice? Isn't my face red.

He says his goal is to get people to masturbate "the normal way". As opposed to what, with a battery charger and a rubber chicken? As long as you're not hurting yourself or someone else, who cares how you spank it?

And my hunt for qualifications lead to this:
"I am a scholar at a major research university (in a field unrelated to sexuality), and there is a question whether this web site would fall under the jurisdiction of their policies on use of human subjects in research and other matters if I identified myself with my affiliation to the university on the site."

Oh good. I feel better now. He has no training and is trying to dodge NIH Human Subject requirements.

	Explain what exactly? The hymen is not (normally) sealed shut. Otherwise, how would menstrual blood come out and a tampon go in? There is at least one hole in it which is usually wide enough to accomodate a speculum. Was that the confusion? (Reply to this)(Parent)
