Godwin was a Nazi!
Over at the xkcd feed, [info]polyanarch informs us that he hates Godwin's law and all the sheep who follow it, and all comparisons to Hitler are inherently valid. Small, but amusing.

Also, bonus wank in which we're told that getting a hysterectomy means you aren't a woman anymore and people argue about who does or doesn't deserve abuse. (Warning: slightly nsfw icon in that thread.)

I think we can all probably be glad we don't know.

And on menopause?

I think it'd be fun to put s/h/it in a room full of menopausal and post-hysterectomy-...-cal women, though!

oh christ post-hysterectomy women

Somehow when my mom had a hysterectomy it managed to escape the entire family that this meant INSTA-MENOPAUSE until she started having hot flashes. I very nearly got myself killed by saying 'Oh, THAT'S why you've been pure evil!' when we figured it out.

Thank god she's on hormone replacement now. @_@

I suddenly see myself very happy that my mother had only a 'simple' hysterectomy sans oophorectomy, and that this is still delayed for a few years. Hopefully, until I've moved out.

At least she didn't have to deal with it in college. I had to have an ovary removed, and went through a sort of mini-menopause until my body adjusted. So I had the joy of explaining to my roomie why I had turned on a fan in the middle of the night and was standing in front of it flapping my nightgown.

I suspect my explanation for that would be "I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT". ._.

I'd best go and talk to the mater about actually her being a man and all that.
