It's pretty obvious from both your post and your many replies that you have tried the world's way of parenting and it is failing you.

The world's way of parenting? Uh... what? Is there a specific way the world is interested in raising our kids?

I'm trying to translate the batshit this lady spouts, but it only comes out as a very vague gargling noise in the back of my head.

	"The world's way of X" and "the world's X" are red-flag phrases for the "you!-out-of-my-religion" sort of Christians. (In the most severe cases it's objections to "the world's logic" distracting people from "God's logic," which comes pretty close to an admission of not following Earth logic at all.) Ah, I figured. I think it was just so weird to me that I didn't want to believe it, you know? Almost as if I was trying to convince myself she wasn't completely nuts.

Yeah, I tried to make myself believe that about the woman who thinks God helps pay her bills. (Whenever someone says something like that, I always want to ask, "So, He helped you with your bills, but fuck the people who have horrible diseases? They can just go right ahead and die, but God forbid, literally, you get behind on the water bill?")

It sort of makes me think of the girl in my old high school that passed around that "I was saved from being raped because I prayed to God" story. God, I fucking hate that story.
