Fun with Apple!
In which a misinformed blog posting causes stock droppage (maybe), panic (yes), and wank (definitely).

The chain of events goes something like this:

Engadget: ZOMG! The iPhone and Leopard are going to be delayed! Internal email says so!
Apple haters: IN YOUR FACE, APPLE!
Apple fans: Bullsh!t! Show us proof!
Apple stock: *thud*
Apple: Um, just one good goddamn minute. No. Not true. Here's an official press release and everything.
Engadget: Um. Oops. Sowwy.
Engadget commenters: *lots of shouting, including taking Engadget to task for printing something unsubstantiated*

Good times.

Mostly, I'd really like to see Steve Jobs's face right now -- I'm sort of surprised I didn't hear the blast in Cupertino all the way from Texas. And I'd really hate to be the Apple employee(s) who leaked the fake email to Engadget.

	Actually, they posted about it a little while back. General consensus was he probably meant 'love', but he couldn't just come out and say it on TV. The Genius, being a genius, figured it out anyway. ^_~ (Reply to this)(Parent)

	On a slightly unrelated topic, the latest Mac and PC ad, entiteld "Genius" I just watched it twice (and put on headphones the second time) and I still can't tell if PC is saying "how much do I love Mac" or "how much do I loathe Mac". I'm assuming it's "love", but in the general context of the Mac vs. PC commercials, "loathe" would probably work too. ;) (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
