Buns? On MY tummy?

Cute Overload is the best proof for the fact that people will wank over everything.

Today's topic: Cats and bunnies. More precisely, this video of Scooby the cat and three baby buns. The general "aww" comments proceed until ... (Links are not to any user profiles but to the comments).

chelle07:  Wow, that wasn't cool.

The poor cat clearly was not impressed with the bunnies being dropped on him, and he got in trouble when he reacted the way a cat would.

warrior rabbit:  Sigh. Prepare for commentroversy. Shall we take bets? Will it go over 300? 500?

Good guess! 293 comments and counting plus 73 on youtube (which is after all worth 8 pages over there).

Proud Owner of Cats:  Way to go on making a cat neurotic, eh? I have four cats and what she's doing is simply ridiculous. All in the name of "cute".

STOP! In the naaame of cuuute~ ... sorry *shuffles away*

Proud Owner of Cats: If I saw a mom repeatedly forcing a child to react nicely to something she she doesn't want to touch and punishing her for reacting and CONTINUE FORCING her child etc etc I'd say she's f'ing neurotic and she's trying to make her kid neurotic. Same applies to pets.

More delicious tl;dr wank down in the comments where people fight each other off the soapboxes. Bunnies on cat, not cute!  No, owner bopping cat not cute! NO, she's just trying to train them! Yes, but she's doing it WRONG! No, the owner is just a SPO in general! Domestic pets love each other, idiots! You are all crazy! You support torture! Omg comment oppreshun!

I think the owner's a douche too. Not torture or anything, but cat cleaning bun is cute, so take a picture. If the buns keep moving away then don't put them back. Half that video is just her going 'Bad kitty, don't eat what looks like food' Why the hell would she post it?

Putting the rabbits back repeatedly = lame, but the chompage that's going on there doesn't really look like eating behavior. My cats do that to each other all the time when they play. Unfortunately, though, cats don't always have the best judgment about how hard they can chomp without inflicting damage. So ultimately, yeah, I guess I have to cast a vote for douchitude as well.

Still, damn are people wanky on that site.

Yeah, I think this video just didn't deserve that kind of righteous wankfest that it spawned.

I agree with you-- it looked to me more like it was trying to pick them up to clean them, like an cat with kittens that don't want to get cleaned up.

The owner's irritating for continuing to put them back, but yeah, definitely not worth the wankage.

My cat used to do that to my hands.

I concur.

Cat is all like :D PLAAAAY? And the buns are all WTF U GUYS and. Yes. That's not attack biting. That's goofing off with pseudo-littens.

I dunno, that bunny was sorta freaking out when the cat started chomping. Probably just instinctive behavior but I have a feeling I'd react the same way. Lesson? Just let the bunnies leave if they want to.

So, by this logic.. forcing kids to eat veggies and kiss old relatives equals RAEP!

Or "getting civilized." One of those, anyway.

Not to bring the unfunny, but - while forcing kids to kiss old relatives/anyone may not constitute rape in and of itself, it does run counter to teaching kids the "no one may touch you against your will/in a way that makes you uncomfortable; if someone does, tell an adult you trust" principle that may one day protect them from molestation. Personally, I'd rather have Aunt Minnie be offended that my [as of yet hypothetical] kid rejects her sloppy kisses and have said kid live with the understanding that her physical boundaries are sacred and she has a right to speak up in defence of said boundaries.

I love it when the cat goes "WHAT? What do you want from me?"
Did you ever think that perhaps this cat and these bunnies had interacted quite happily before without incident, but that in an effort to capture it on camera for the twee-talking hordes here the cat tired and the bunnies began to squirm? Maybe my moral compass has hit magnetic overload, or maybe I'm just a rational person with more to do in my life than whinge endlessly about the finer points of bunny abuse or cat wrangling. Sweet Jebus.

Can't be having any of that logic here. You'll have to leave it outside.

I really don't get this phenomena of wanking furiously over cute animals. C'mon, it's cute animals! Aren't you supposed to bask in a state of warm fuzzies after the images of CUTE ANIMALS reaches your retinas? Puppies, for example? You're supposed to such them for like 10 minutes and feel less angry! Not MORE angry!
What's wrong with these people?!

PS that cat owner is a silly misguided douche, but not some misguided torturer of animals. Don't worry, the cat will exact its revenge by crapping just outside the litter box, oho.

Torture? No. Dumb? Incredibly. Deserving of wank? Probably not. But deserving of criticism for stupidity, sure.

Looking at the description for the video on YouTube, I find myself wondering if the poster is the actual owner. "Cat has a taste for rabbits" doesn't seem like what I'd expect a pet owner to write of their attempt at cuteness.

"You can play with them but not eat them." *puts another bunny on him*

Howabout you just film your animals from now on and stop trying to direct them?

Definitely not deserving of wank, but I can see why people are irritated. It was cute for the first two seconds or so though.
