I stopped counting years ago- I go down to Heirloom in August every year to buy their overstocks at half price, which means, lately, I'm growing minis in five gallon pots. I have three roses that take more than a day each, twice a year, to prune (Ispahan and Long John Silver, the latter of which makes a dark tunnel over 25" of walkway nest to the house, and Darlow's Enigma). I sort of kink of on purpose over-prune roses I'm tired of so I can plant new and different ones.
I have a little problem with plants the way Janis Joplin had a little problem with heroin.
