Quit having kids, you're wasting my money!
A post is made to [info]bad_service in which a mother with WIC vouchers and several kids was insulted to her face and behind her back by a clerk. While most people seem to agree that this is bad service, about half the commentors are also quick to tell the OP that she's brought it all on herself and to either quit whining or quit popping out babies she can't afford. 123 comments of "My thoughts on having kids" and growing.

The OP said in her original post something like "Yes, I'm using birth control, no, I didn't miss a pill" and then later clarified, saying that she was on a progesterone-only pill and that her husband used condoms. Most oral contraceptives contain both synthetic estrogen and progesterone, and with those, generally it's still considered "safe" to take your pill anywhere within 12 hours of the time you were supposed to take it, and you won't need to use backup contraception. So if you take your combined pill 8 hours late it doesn't count as missed and you are still protected from pregnancy, because the level of hormones in your body doesn't dip enough to hurt your protection. Progesterone-only pills contain a much smaller amount of hormone, so their window is much smaller -- if you're 3 or more hours late with one of those, it usually counts as a missed pill. But if the OP was used to combined contraceptives she may not have realized the window for POPs was smaller. It's usually stressed pretty clearly by prescribing physicians though, that you have to be more careful with it, so it's probably all a moot point anyway. But yeah, that was my big curiosity about this wank, haha.
