In case you missed it, the logo for the 2012 London Summer Olympics was unveiled not too long ago. (It's coming to get you!)

The reaction? Not great.

A lone voice shouts...we liked it.

Aaand petition!

Heh. I thought the original was a little lack lustre at first, but it was quite nice and when I thought about it more, it was really attractive. I'd much prefer that on a t-shirt than the "new" logo. :P What poor saps "private funding" paid for that shit anyways? Also someone should clue that guy in. Adults are the ones that pay for the merchandise not the kids. So generally, having something that can appeal to all ages is the smarter way to go. :/

This reminds me of when Amtrak first released the Acela logo. The younger guys working in my mom's department (accountants for amtrak) had snickerfits for a good long time. At least that logo did actually look kinda cool though.
