Our shop lifting confrontation policies are so squeaky clean you'd have to use a toothpick to fit between the cracks. Retail policy is that $XXX of lost merchandise is better than a potential multi-million dollar lawsuit. I know it's a totally shocking concept, but generally people don't want to utterly alienate their client base.
