Don't get her fired you h0r!
OK, so over in [info]bad_service, [info]biumbiumbambalo posts a tale about a teenage cashier accusing them of stealing. The OP is not wanky...the fun begins when some suggestions of speaking to a manager and getting said cashier fired are made and [info]dunaerin takes umbrage with the suggestion.

"Handle this now and get that dumb ass bitch fired."

NO NO NO NO.

Fuck, that pisses me off. No matter how old someone is, you don't know their life situation. This job might be the one thing that helps pays her families bills, etc. Unless you have like, continuous issues with someone, you should never ever threaten to get someone fired. Hell, her grandmother could have DIED or something and she was having a really bad day.

That is so pretentious and nasty, I'm sorry.

Things don't get wanky, at first; people say that they definitely think a manager should be spoken to, and [info]dunaerin agrees but is quite emphatic that the employee should not be fired. Then the fun begins with [info]karinalynn's comment:

I think she should have thought about her "life situation" before she falsely accused the OP of stealing, then made her empty her pockets twice, then used profanity towards her, then not apologize when she realized she was wrong.

She does deserve to lose her job over this. She is putting her company at risk for lawsuits and losing business because of the way she acted. If her grandmother died, or she was having THAT bad of a day, she should have left. She should not have been dealing with the public. Period. End of story. There is never an excuse to treat a customer like that.

[info]dunaerin:Maybe she does, but you know what? THAT IS NOT YOUR CHOICE TO MAKE. Leave that to her supervisor, and not a customer. I have no respect for anyone who is that self centred.

[info]conceptual_tea: The cashier was self centered by doing two searches on the OP and not even apologizing. She deserves to lose her job. Sorry, but people are not entitled to a job if they act this inappropriately. There are other cashier jobs, and if she gets fired, she'll learn to not act like this again.

[info]dunaerin:What if YOU had a bad day? Say you maybe have a bad situation at home, and you say something nasty out of absolute frustration. Customer gets you fired.

Would you just say OH WELL? I don't think so.

[info]conceptual_tea: I wouldn't act like the cashier did. I am betting she broke store policy on several occasions. The cashier's possibly "bad day" is not the problem of the company or the customer.

Maybe if she gets fired she'll learn to follow the rules and not demand to search people because she's got her panties in a knot.

[info]dunaerin: Maybe you would. You never know. My scorpion died today. I nearly burst out bawling at work, so had to go home, because being on phones + mentoring + crying = no.

Maybe something horrible happens to you, and you act badly because of it.

You just don't know. Sorry that you're such a dick. I honestly am. :<

[info]dunaerin rapidly degrades into CAPSLOCK OF stupid RAGE. And blames them calling [info]conceptual_tea names on them being Canadian...no I'm not sure what the signifigance is either. He/she then proceeds to tangle again with [info]conceptual_tea in this thread. Once He/she gets tired of that they proceed to troll [info]conceptual_tea's journal.

Kinda small, but worth it I think.

...because store clerks are never rude? I thought the story seemed unusually plausable for an internet complaint.

Perhaps I come from the land of preternaturally polite servicepeople, but the touching and the turning out of the pockets struck me as "yeah, right." Or perhaps I am such a raging bitch that no clerk dares confront me even when they suspect something.
