"Worth Mocking!" "Is not!" "Is too!"
I know, I know, wank from [info]mock_the_stupid is like shooting ducks in a barrel of honey, but still-

A post is made, mocking a Ugandan AIDS education pamphlet for including what would seem to us to be really obvious information but apparently...isn't to them.

Many commentors think the poster has gone to the wrong place, and aren't really seeing anything worth pointing and LOLing at, considering the actual AIDS education situation in Uganda.

Mod Opalcat, however, isn't at all happy with the people criticizing her decision that it's mockworthy, and after arguing with a handful of commentors in aforelinked threads, posts a comments-locked modpost:

10:32 pm - MTS is not PC. And it isn't going to be.

If you can't live with that, please don't let the door hit ya.

The overkill PC whinging is really fucking tiring. We get it already. Get over it or leave. Honestly.

This brings more comments to the original post, mostly by people venting what they couldn't say in the modpost.

Of course, there are also others who think the mock is perfectly hilarious and are quick to call those who don't oversensitive PC pussies defend the post's merits.

Relatively small, but considering the modpost, I thought it had progressed beyond the clairvoyant stage.

what other wanks has she been involved in? because her username seems sort of familiar.

I don't know if she's actually been reported here before, but she's known for being the modtator of MTS. She gets uppity about what she considers mockworthy and bitches at people who disagree with her decisions. The posts there are moderated and she runs the comm alone, so if people claim things are unfunny or offensive or whatever, she tends to take it personally.

Was Opalcat the one who freaked out over the Jumping Jesus Christ icons? Or was that someone else entirely?

It only got as far as clairvoyant, I think, but there was the Anna Nicole wank over the use of the word "pneumatic".

Which, sheeyah, Opalcat and Her Delusions of Adequacy.

Maybe that'll replace HP after the series ends?

There was one where she let a post through just because she wanted people to mock the poster for making grammar/spelling mistakes. Then when people weren't doing that and were saying the way the post was written wasn't all that bad, she went around to commenters going OH YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE IT WAS EDITED etc etc ... people were getting banned left right and centre there IIRC, like someone was banned for posting "IAWTC" as a reply to someone else who disagreed with Teh Queen Opalcat.

And then my fav was the one where some poor girl posted a stupid about how someone in her family had been making hot milk with sugar in it, and it kept tasting like crap so they kept putting more sugar in - till they realised that the 'sugar' was actually salt. Okay, so far so commonplace brainfart, till Opalcat and her buddies go completely wildly batshit hysterical everywhere about OMG PUTTING SUGAR IN MILK WTF SO STUPID CRAZY OMGBBQBBC WAI U DO THAT ...
Because putting sugar in milk is such a difficult concept to understand. Nuclear physics is nothing to sugar in milk.

I went and got a link and saved it on my other computer ... genius ... anyway! Go to stupid_free, and on the side of the comm page you'll see a big list of tags. There's an Opalcat one there that'll give you the lulz you're after ...

People put chocolate or strawberry syrup in milk all the time. Sweetening milk is really that foreign a concept to her? I mean, sure, I may not have heard of it before myself, but if I did I wouldn't find it all that strange.

I mean what does she think cereal is exactly? Sugared bits in milk (not all cereal but a good number). Hello Sugar Flakes? Once you eat the flakes, what do you think is left? :P

Someone was denied the wonders of a "balanced" breakfast cereal as a kid, weren't they.

Also, my grandmother would always chop up strawberries, put them in milk, sugar it and give us that as a treat. We loved it. :9

I know! It's the most mind-bogglingly persistant case of willful non-comprehension I can remember coming across. I didn't even notice anything unusual at all when I read the sugar and milk bit, I'm so used to having them together.
