All over plastic lunch boxes
Every time I think I've seen it all, I see something new and stranger.

Over on bentolunch ss_biggie makes a post about how one of their members, thejenn1, has been selling bento lunch boxes from her website bentoyum. The fact that she is both a small business owner and writing articles about her viral marketing makes her...something. I don't know what. This sends the community into an uproar of scandal as people are not happy that she didn't tell them she was in business to make money.

thejenn1 posts in her defense and it snowballs from there. Sockpuppeting accusations, social experiments, just JELUS, and general outrage over if her being a business even makes a difference.

Sit back, pull up some sushi. Kinda small, but tasty, lulz.

Do people really dye hard boiled eggs blue and mold them into heads?

I know you can buy molds to stick the eggs in right after they boil, but I can't figure out how the coloring works. Egg dye after they're shelled? I'm not sure I want to eat an egg that looks like a blue car, anyway...

You can probably just poke a hole in the shell and put the dye in the boiling water.

I'm not sure you can boil them properly if the shell's not intact... I know whenever I boil an egg that has even a tiny crack in it, the white comes pouring out and then it bubbles up in the pot and goes out the sides unless I take it off the heat right away.

I guess it might be different if it were just a tiny hole, though.

I think that's right...I remember when I was little, for some reason when we hard boiled eggs to make Easter eggs, we used a special egg-hole-poking device to poke a tiny little hole in the shell.

Boil the egg, mold it, give it a dip in a dye bath.

Personally, since I can taste some food dyes (red especially) I think I'd skip the dye. Maybe color it with some spices or something if I had to have a non-white egg for some reason.

I really do need to dump an icon so I have a slot for a food related one....

There's something called 'tea eggs' where they flavor hard-boiled eggs with tea and...stuff. If I liked hard-boiled eggs, I'd try it.
