You'd think that torturing a pet would be something we could all condemn...
So I was perusing the Star Gate: Atlantis newsletter, and followed a link to something listed as "Sunday Secrets" (expecting that it would be about the third season episode 'Sunday'). Instead I ended up in a community called PostSecret, "an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard."

Amongst not-unexpected fare such as abortion and gay prom dates, there is a postcard from someone who forced their cat to drink bleach in order to see the cute vet. (Note the file name.)

Not surprisingly, there's tons of outrage in the comments. Also not surprisingly, there's tons of people wanking about the outrage.

I liked kriatyrr's comment: If you just want to see cute guys, I suggest you pick up stalking. It's less creepy.

Bonus wank: apparently only a woman would be that psycho.

(And I still have no idea what this has to do with SGA.)

ETA: OK, I get it. I personally was disgusted too, but found the complaints to be FAIL and therefore mildly amusing, but I guess I was wrong. No need to belabor the point.

Give me an otf_comm in which wanks about rape, animal abuse or pokemon torture have the chance of resulting in anything better than more wank with extra moral outrage topping and I'll welcome posts like this with open arms.

But I think it's not asked too much that posters question themselves if their contribution has the slightest hope to bring out the funny here.

Well, humour is pretty subjective-- maybe somebody out there finds flouncey moral outrage in the form of 18 million comments all saying the same thing funny? I don't, but that's just me I guess.

In theory you can find hilarity everywhere and produce something funny from everything. I'm not sure, but this wank might have flown before horsefucker. But after that trainwreck certain posters got the impression that every instance of "lifeform A abusing lifeform B, with an optional lifeform C loudly objecting to it on the internet D" is wank and needs to be delivered to otf_wank's doorstep.
And that's the point where it's perfectly okay to say "We're done with this, it's getting old, go away." We did that with Harmony-Wank, we sure as hell can do so with Animal Abuse.

I agree; I just wish more people would try a little harder to be clever or funny or something when they do so. Anyway, wasn't creating the cornfield and putting the link in the user info (with fairly explicit instructions) what really took Harmony wank out of FW? I'm not sure; it was before my time and not something I paid a lot of attention to in the first place, but it seems to me that's what did it.

There's been wank about pokemon torture? Seriously?

Fortunately no.
I had a feeling there was another topic that always brings sad results on otf, but I just couldn't think of what it was. Consider Pokemon torture as a placeholder for that.

*tries to be helpful* There was something about spousal abuse that thankfully got deleted once.
I know, my kind of helpful... is special.

Find a need and fill it, I always say.

extra moral outrage topping

Yes, but if moral outrage is topping, what's bottoming?

Bottoming?

Well, when a man and a woman love each other very much, and have very specific safewords to fall back on.. no, wait, that's something else entirely.

Nevermind.
