I was about to post this, after seeing the minor kerfluffle in veganpeople.

But then again, after some activists in Italy released rabbits used for testing fucking smallpox, I have no sympathy for Animal Liberation Fronts of any kind. Activism is one thing, idiocy is quite another.

And this after I just found out about that 'Your Mommy Kills Animals' movie, which is all about how Animal Rights Groups are the number one domestic terrorists in the States.
Oh sweet coincidence.

Living in the hippie city I'm in, I once saw a bunch of signs posted up on telephone posts, proclaiming in bold capitals 'WHY ARE YOU STILL EATING ANIMALS?'
As a farmer's granddaughter, lover of the BBQ and friend of sane vegetarians, I did was seems only natural. I took out a pen and wrote 'BECAUSE THEY ARE DELICIOUS' underneath.

Random useless anecdote time:

I met a guy once who became vegan in order to lower his cholesterol. (It worked, too: he went from a cholesterol count of 300 to 116, and lost 40 pounds as well). He consumed no animal products whatsoever except for honey, on the grounds that it didn't really hurt the bees, and he was most emphatically not an asshole.

That said, I love me some dead beasties, which I happily consumed yesterday in probably unwise amounts.

I'll never get over a video made by the Animal Liberation Front in Russia, where they broke into a place that was breeding ferrets and released them into the wild.

Not realizing, obviously, that ferrets are thoroughly domesticated and can't survive in the wild. They're not even like dogs or cats -- as far as I know, there's *never* been a feral colony of ferrets.

So, yeah ... they just sentenced all those cute-faced ferrets to a nasty death. *cries*

This is confusing me, because vegans don't eat animals. Vegans don't ANY animals, which means they are NOT eating every animal on the planet, which means that in order to eat three times more than every animal vegans don't eat you'd have to eat three times as many animals than actually exist on the planet.

Um, I think. It's somewhat confusing. It also seems somewhat gluttonous.

This makes me think of the movie 28 Days Later, where the plague broke out because some animal rights activists freed some infected gorillas. That's how the world's gonna end, I swear...some dumbass animal rights people releasing plague infested animals. Just you wait and see.
