There's a post in [info]stupid_free about people defending the terrorist actions of an animal rights group.

The stupid shows up to defend itself, and wank explodes. Way too much wank to link to.

...I'm slightly scared of the links, so it makes very little sense without that context, I guess. Thanks, anyway.

Oh, sorry. Basically a lot of vegan wank centers around the argument about whether humans are "supposed" to eat meat based on physiology. They'll bust out the fact that we have molars and higher incidences of colon cancer correlating with red meat consumption as "proof" that humans are supposed to be herbivores. But really, when you look at the fact that we *can* digest meat and have things like the appendix going on and a couple of other things, humans are pretty much omnivores with a greater emphasis on plant material consumption. Sort of like you can argue that dogs are omnivores with a greater emphasis on meat consumption because even though they're predators, they can digest more plant material than cats and can survive longer without meat than cats.

Now I must end the serious. Boobies?

I was a vegetarian, I'm a recent convert to veganism, did so for moral reasons and I wish, WISH the rest of my dietary preference would stop resorting to this argument. You can just side-step the whole argument completely by invoking a very simple philosophical truism: Is does not imply ought, can does not imply should. We can eat meat, but we can choose not to for reasons xyz. Stop muddling your moral issue with non-moral arguments, bitches.

Also, boobies.

Heh, and here I was thinking that its all of the rubbish that we put in our food these days, combined with all of the rubbish that we breathe, drink and generally live in, that was upping the cancers. Silly me.
