W00t!
Crap: srs bizness.

Woot.com is an online retail site with a "one day, one deal" business model. The new product goes up midnight CST, which is where Woot's headquarters are located.

Last night they offered the hallowed Bag of Crap as their item--a blind grab bag that costs one dollar, and usually does contain crap (I got a patriotic mousepad and a mini basketball in my previous crap) but very rarely has big ticket items--Roombas, Wiis, mp3 players, etc.

It was sold out within minutes, but the buy button was working for a good hour after all the product (10,000 craps) was gone, causing much disappointment when orders didn't go through. A Woot staffer posted a rundown later that day. 140,000 crap purchases were attempted, 7% succeeded! 43 latecomers got in on crap because of "technical delays"! Most of the craps were sold to West Coast people!

The fourth comment starts the fun.
Gee. Wonder WHY the East Coast is lagging??? How about THIS??? It's ONE IN THE FRIGGIN' MORNING!!!!! I dunno about the rest of you, but I have a job to get to, and I get up at 4:15AM to get there.. Staying up til 1AM just isn't an option...
Several suggestions that Woot change their product update time to accommodate them ensue.
Sorry, but just casually laughing at the 93% who were led to believe they got something, and who wasted hours trying to make your system work, just doesn't cut it. You failed, and the result was your customers were treated like dirt. I guarantee it isn't going to happen to me again, since I am finished with woot.
People point out that particular flouncer doesn't have any Woot purchases to his name.
It just gives me a sick feeling every time I try to order the BOC. I ALWAYS GET REJECTED !!!!!!! I am always there trying. I JUST FEEL LIKE I'M GETTING SCREWED, AND I AM TIRED OF IT!

I AM REMOVING WOOT FROM MY FAVORITES!

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!

JUST SICK OF IT!
And so forth.

Then another staffer gets involved, suggesting that the server crash was done on purpose to test their server load for a new website. Oh boy. He also gets snarky here. There's also, of course, grievances from two years ago getting rehashed.

I think my favorite exchange is here.
I simply would like an explaination on why if I was on the confirmation page at 12:01, and the product did not sell out until 12:03, why do I not have 3 bagsofcrap in my lap.

Seems like a fair question after missing out on so many for illogical reasons like server crashes.

I won, and Woot! stole my spoils of victory.

And the thought that people shouldn't complain because they can go somewhere else is awesome and arrogant. If I go to Wal-Mart and the door greeter takes a dump in my cart, I can go someplace else. That does not make poor customer treatment and service acceptable.
Followed by...
I am awesome and arrogant. If I worked at Walmart, I probably would take a dump in your cart.
As of yet there is no mention that that would be a Cart of Crap and thus unacceptable to the discerning Wooter anyway.

There's plenty of gold in the posts, and 92 pages o'fun in the blog post itself. (I got my crap purchase confirmed within five minutes, so I think their methods are fine.)

I just said crap a whole lot.

Edit: Found a one person pity party. Complete with nerdy server talk and overuse of the term fanboys. Hee hee hee.

That's okay, 'cause I brought chocolate milk for the mixer! (Hey, if I'm gonna drink something sweet, I may as well do it properly.)
