At least get the vet to look at it, that isn't thousands of bucks. And if it's too expensive, then either try to beg for money or quickly and humanely put doggie to sleep. To let any living thing - err, except a plant *looks guilty* - potentially die of thirst seems needlessly cruel.

I grow Orchids, my roses are trying to eat the house, I've got rare and fragile stuff left and right in my flower beds.

I kill african violets. The things are cursed.

And just how is that plant going to learn to be tough if you go around watering it all the time?

I explain this to my ficus tree every few months.
