Grammar wank ahoy
Snagged off stupid_free

[info]ilovefreaks has a bone to pick with the [info]writers_guild community:

To the grammer Nazis
I am sorry that you have no life and that all you do is blog and materbate. (Which makes for a very sticky keyboard)

Grammar nitpicking? On a writers' community? OH THE INDIGNITY.

The community members are less than amused, so she retorts with piercing rhetoric like "I do have good work it's just when people get so stuck on the grammar that they can't see anything else what does that make them. I have a right to bitch I'm an American!"

Also with a side of Nazi wank

In addition to that, courtesy of the sharp folks on stupid_free, we have an example of the eye-poppingly wonderful prose of [info]ilovefreak that's been so cruelly maligned by the denizens of [info]writers_guild:

READ IT. READ IT AND WEEP (WITH HAPPINESS).

*reads* ...okay, did that chick just try to seduce Munch? Cause that's definitely getting into a creepy area.

The writing's horrific, but the dialogue sounds in-character enough. I'm wondering if she ripped off part of an episode for it.

Oh, man, really? How far in was that? (I salute you for even getting that far. I gave up when she was rubbing up on Elliot's lap)

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. I mean, I know that the L&O franchise is pretty formulaic, but too much about that script just sounds too familiar.

Right when she was talking to Huang. It is a do not want.

Pepper turned around to Munch

Pepper:Ah yes I can give both your mind and your body a workout.

Pepper grabbed Munch's head ran her hands through his hair and giggled. She grabbed his hand and put it on her back.

It follows a pattern, yeah, but the dialogue and quips and plot twists are the parts that differ. And I can't really see her having enough skill to write out proper SVU snark. Bad writers like this never seem to use subtle humor or give any character but their own the ability to verbally pwn.

Ok, yeah, I just read through the whole thing. Holy Tense Shifts, Batman!

But it just strikes me as a little too similar to a couple episodes. There was definitely one with a psychopathic woman who tried to seduce any man who came in to question her and I'm pretty sure she was wearing a white tank top when she went after Eliot, but then they sent Olivia in to deal with her.

Hrm. Haven't seen that one yet, although I'd like to. Only one I know of is the woman with the brain tumor who tried to make out with Eliot randomly.

There, now we can see that even in proper script form (which anyone could have learned out of a $6 book* or even free on the internet), it's still shit.

*If one's dream is scriptwriting, a $6 book might be in order at the very least.

I'm not familiar with Munch's L&O portrayal, but as a longtime proponent of the "Homicide was the best cop show in the history of television, bar none" school, I am making a horrified face at the thought of seducing him.

Maybe back in his long-ago hippie days. But now? Not so much.

...although that makes me remember the time he found a photo of himself from twenty years ago in an art gallery.

A nude photo. Brain burns.

You didn't actually see it, Munch just mentioned it in passing and asked Fin if he had any dark secrets of his own.

Fin admitted to being Republican.

--ahahahaha, wait, they did that story on SVU? With the nude picture in the art gallery? because....they kind of already did it on Homicide. HOW MANY CRAZY ARTIST EX-GIRLFRIENDS DOES HE HAVE.

Might have been a reference to the older show, actually. It wasn't a story, it was just mentioned in passing.

Munch is made of awesome, but I don't think I could shag the guy. Maybe it's superficial but he's just a little too creepy looking for me.

He kinda looks like that manager guy from the Incredibles.

Or a highly evolved chimpanzee.
