this post brought to you by the letter "P"
A dog groomer dyes a poodle pink, and posts pics.

A short time later, parabolichobo jumps in with "that is just so completely and utterly wrong."

The owner of the blog, lupaloo, tries a bit of reason.

"War, poverty, crime... and you're worried about the crime of dying a dog pink?
Or maybe by wrong you mean hysterically funny and cool."

parabolichobo then replies "definitely not funny and cool, glad you called it a crime!"

It doesn't go much further, but there is a discusson about the edibility of poodle dye, dogs as fashion accessories, and pink-poodle supporters come out of the woodwork after the whole thing goes down.

Plus, a pink poodle!

I'm eyeing my ragdoll, Amanda and thinking powder blue. And since my hair is currently also blue, it'd be hella cute.

She'd probably hate me for at least a week, though. Amanda + grooming = bad, bad shit.

If you do it, you must post a picture of the two of you together.

Your cat is so cute!

The only color I could dye my cat would be red, because she is of the opinion that if she bathes it will be in my blood. As soon as I even close the bathroom door she starts shredding me.

Oh wow. I'm not much of a cat-squee-er (I'm more into puppies) but your Amanda made me want to let loose in the office. So precious!

Thanks!

It helps that she's adorable, it offsets that laptop-cord-chewing fetish she's got going on. Finally figured out how to prevent that, *after* she went through three of the things at $80 a pop. *shakes head*

That is quite possibly the cutest cat in the history of all cats ever.

That dog makes me think Charlie and the CHocolate factory, where the pink sheep are being sheared.

I wanna see a bright purple one. I'd dye my cat like that, the one white and grey I have, but he'd never forgive me.

I should tell them about the guy who dyed his ferret green...and then almost lost it in his overgrown yard.

The saddest dog I ever saw was a bulldog that had just been dyed candyfloss-pink. It was not a look she was able to pull off.

Madam Poodle, on the other hand, is stylin'

Unfortunately, I'm late to the party...

But I can't decide if the OP's detractors or friends are funnier. And seriously:

"I don't agree with dying dogs either - it's not their choice - it's the owner's. Poodles are lovely naturally - i don't understand why everyone feels they have to interfere with the way animals look..."

The famous poodle look? NOT NATURAL. Show poodles are clipped, baby. Poodles unclipped look more like dust mops.

(Side note: One of my dogs adores being groomed. She'll prance after a bath because she's ready to be worshipped for her beauty. Another dog? He can be filthy and matted but still look show ready. Hates grooming and- ooooh, is that a mud puddle?- right after a trip to the groomers...)

Also late to the party. And only here to show off my Shadow.

Everyone compliments me on his coloring, but he's just a black dog who went old man gray. ^.^

Late to the party, but my cocker loves her some manicures. She'll put her paw up for them. I learned this after a stint as a Petsmart bather.

Shouldn't be surprised, though, since this is the dog that won't eat chips without Newman's Own salsa.
