Who knew some bank stupid would come to this?
So, over on [info]stupid_free, [info]dwa20 posts about someone who doesn't seem to fathom how a bank account works. But that's not the wank. The wank begins when [info]albino_dinosaur says, "i will never ever ever ever understand using a debit card to make a $1 purchase." Well actually, it's not his/her's fault...it's the response by [info]hey_its_michael that gets things rolling:

"I dislike cash for a multitude of reasons (it's literally filthy, requires me to carry paper declaring a belief in the supernatural, and is inconvenient). I debit whenever I can, but carry cash for those times I cannot".

[info]anomie666 immediately goes on the attack:

"When meta-stupids attack!!

Your radical atheism is one of the reasons you don't carry cash!"

Thus begins a brawl between [info]hey_its_michael and [info]anomie666. The constitution is rammed up the ass sideways repeatedly discussed, the meaning of separation of church and state is argued, and Google is called upon to settle things. Small but tasty, I thought.

Imagine how many people have touched the money after doing God knows what D:

Mind, I hate touching public door handles.

Yeah, but if the public door handle is full of germs (and it is), your hands are already filthy anyway. May as well use money!

Yeah. It's a pity neuroses don't listen to logic. Glad I don't have one :D I might hate touching the doors, but I still do it.

Didn't some study a few years back prove there is a trace of fecal matter on almost all coins?

I carry liquidless soap. The best present a friend ever got me (Even if it was only to stop her wasting time while I dashed off to wash my hands)

Only if it's the money that's been handled by coke dealers.

I can understand it. Singles in particular have a very high circulation rate, and there's a decent chance you may be handling the sweat molecules of the worst stripper at Herpes' Love Shack. People frequently put it in their shoes and bras in the summer and sweat all over it. If money gets dropped in the toilet, it gets fished out and used again. When I worked Subway and got put on cashier, my hands would be filthy black after an hour just from handling cash (since you never touch food directly after touching money).

Not that you catch anything from handling money, but I can understand being icked out.

That's why I always wore gloves while working the register.

Oh, they wouldn't let us. Said it was "wasteful," the gloves were there for our customer's protection and not ours, and if we wore gloves on register we would get confused and handle food right after cash. Because if you work at Subway, obviously you're too simple to understand anything more complex than gloves=food, no gloves=no food!

Sadly, it took an attempted murder (not on me) to clue me into quitting.

That makes me glad I work in a store that sells a lot of anti-bacterial products and has lots of testers.

I mean, logically I know my chances of catching anything are slim to none, but still...icky. D:

That's...odd. Granted, I work at a hardware store, so my level of dirtiness after a shift is probably greater, and my dirt-tolerance much larger, but I can't say that money has ever made my hands black. And I've worked 10 and 12 hour days.

I once had a lady hand me a five covered in baby vomit, so...yeah. (I had to take it too. When she noticed the vomit she cleaned it off a bit with a tissue and was all "It's all I've got." I took it, dashed for the hand sanitizer and gave it to the next person who pissed me off and needed change.)

I once had a guy try to hand me a twenty covered in blood. I looked at him and went, "Do you have any money that isn't a safety hazard?" Because not only did I not get paid enough to handle a stranger's blood (not that there IS enough), but it would contaminate the till, the bills it touched, the manager when she counted it, the bank person who processed the deposit . . .

And yes, he DID have a clean bill. He was all, "Haw haw, my mom's cat clawed the hell out of me, I didn't even notice! :D" Me: " . . . Die in a fire Have a nice day. *glare*"
