thexphial posts in bad_service that she was charged $4 for sitting at a table in a tex-mex restaurant and not eating. Her family finds this unreasonable, because she had just had her tonsils out and couldn't have eaten the free chips, etc. Yes, the policy is on the menu, but the type is tiny. Also, she thinks they wouldn't waive the fee because she's fat. Cue the special.

And that's why I thought whosis accused her of making it all up. Though it was missing the traditional "and the other patrons all stood up and applauded" element.

Now, of course, in her endless comments over here, she's saying she thought it was stupid herself, and she's really not trying to look cool or anything! But, um, that's not how it sounds in the original post.

Oh, dear, I've replied to the wrong one.

For a new and different reply, I doubt we'd be seeing the sheepish "Yaah, I thought it was a stupid thing to do myself" if she hadn't been mocked for it over here as confirming the stereotype she was so sure was totally behind the terrible enforcement of the restaurant rules.

I dunno. I've never been a waitress, but in my limited experience, I never put my customers above petty revenge if they're pissed about something we did. We've just about started a collection of letters from people's lawyers. (Those are always good for a laugh.) I guess I'm just not surprised by anything at this point, so sure *shrug* it could've happened.
