[info]thexphial posts in [info]bad_service that she was charged $4 for sitting at a table in a tex-mex restaurant and not eating. Her family finds this unreasonable, because she had just had her tonsils out and couldn't have eaten the free chips, etc. Yes, the policy is on the menu, but the type is tiny. Also, she thinks they wouldn't waive the fee because she's fat. Cue the special.

FREE MEANS FREE ZOMG
Don't blame the waitress
Not everyone hates fat people
It's definately because you're fat (Further down this thread, there is something about her having posted wankiness in the past)
You are imature and I want to ground you
Don't waste food

And don't share your thoughts on fat people or food wasting in the comments.

ETA: I'm having to turn off notifications for this post with the amount of serious teal dear now that OP has shown up and responded to everything ever.

Why exactly (or to put it better, under what conditions) would they do that? Because I haven't been to a dentist in over a year and I'm pretty sure mine are bursting in now.

I think it mostly depends on how your wisdom teeth are growing in. Mine were comming in very crooked and for a few years before I had the actual surgery I had my dentist tell me every time I saw him that I should get them pulled before they started to hurt.

Sound advice that I opted to ignore until the teeth started to hurt. Pain is a wonderful motivator.

I hear some people never have to have them removed. Lucky them.

Any way of telling if they're coming in crooked before you go to an actual dentist?

I don't know. Mine were clearly visible on dental xrays for years before I got them taken out. If you've still got the phone number for the last dentist you saw, perhaps a quick phone call to their office could get you some more information?

If they really, really, really hurt or feel like they might be crowding your other teeth, that might be a sign. Mine were insanely painful because they were growing in against my other teeth.

But it can be hard to tell on your own, because some people's teeth don't even come through the gums, but they do weird things to the other teeth.

Mine feel fine atm, so I suppose I'm cool.

Yeah, you're probably good for now. It's possible you won't need them out at all. One of my friends only got two and didn't need them extracted. Lucky bastard.

Yay!

Although if I do, I hope I get to keep them.

Pain is a wonderful motivator.

Indeed. I was hoping to get away with keeping mine, but they started shifting (I guess) in such a way that my entire mouth hurt. The best part was when I started getting shooting pains down the full length of a tooth that was broken on three separate occasions and is almost entirely fake. I have to get the two on my right side extracted at some point later the year.

My favorite part of the whole experience was seeing the vaguely disgusted looks on my friends' faces when I told them my dentist let me keep the extracted teeth.

Awww, my dentist didn't even offer to let me keep the teeth, and I didn't think to ask at the time (other things on my mind..like how much I wanted the surgery to be over).

I would have kept them too.

...I thought that was standard practice. All four of mine (in their many splinters) are in a sealed medical jar-thingy in my closet. You mean I could have been scaring my friends all this time?

I'm 28 and mine seem to be happy hiding in the back of my gumline. Which is a good thing as the bottom two, are sideways.

Yeah, mine were coming in sideways too, that's why I had to get them all pulled.

Yay! Another pointless personal story!

Sound advice that I opted to ignore until the teeth started to hurt. Pain is a wonderful motivator.

My dad is 48 and never had his removed. Every 6-8 months, they start to come in, and his face puffs up. He lays in bed and moans like a baby until they go away, and has done so for the LAST 30 YEARS. Apparantly, the thought of getting them pulled scares my (big, manly, cop) father so much that he'd rather deal with pain twice a year.

/my thoughts on fathers AND wisdom teeth.

I guess I'm lucky then, cos my dentist says mine will never grow in. Seems my mouth is too small and there's no room for them to go anywhere. 0__o
