ADA Wank, with a side of Mac Vs. PC and Liberal Vs. Conservative!
So, two California women are suing Apple for alleged accessibility violations in its SF retail store. The comments on the article are, needless to say, wanky, with some complaining about the liberal activist agenda, allegations that the women are just out to make a quick buck, and the occasional disabled person chiming in on both sides of the issue.

Also, WTF is a "standing wheelchair?"

You know what? Fuck anyone who thinks this is somehow 'frivolous'. Why shouldn't companies like Apple have to comply? I don't care what grounds the suit was brought on, but it needed to be done.

I love all the Apple Fanboys saying "Oh it's probably a grudge over some product that didn't work". Yeah Bucko, 'cos a busted iPod is worse than having to fight for access to things and places that other people take for granted.

Losing out $400 for an iPhone is sure worth $500/hour for a lawyer!

I suggest some of those people have had their common sense disabled.

It's worth it to save others the aggravation, though.

Oh, I meant the idea that the plaintiffs are only doing this because they're mad at Apple for some faulty product, and not because of any real problem. It's like these people think every lawyer is Jackie Childs from Seinfeld. though maybe then I would actually watch Court TV.

Ah, okay. :) Misread your meaning, thankfully. (No hope for the failbot further down, though.)

Exactly. Why are fanboys so messed up? Oh yes, because being disabled is just another lifestyle choice isn't it? We're doing this to mess with their clean, white, perfect aesthetic, not 'cos being made to feel like every other human is important!

Wordy McWord. I was going to express similar thoughts, but mine would have been seriously teal deer. And I am also totally blind. Glad to see I'm not the only one?

>.> Question that I am curious about but that you do not have to answer: how exactly do you use the Internet since it is such a very visual medium?

I use a screen reading program which converts the text on a website to speech. The one I use costs hundreds of dollars, which means it works better than most of the commercial text-to-speech software I personally know about. But there are some things I am simply never going to be able to take advantage of. Cat macros, for example, will always be totally lost on me unless people alt-tag their images.

Does that answer your question?

Yes, thank you.

I still have residual vision, so I can wank away thanks to a 32" monitor, zooming/text to speech software, and a squished nose!
