ADA Wank, with a side of Mac Vs. PC and Liberal Vs. Conservative!
So, two California women are suing Apple for alleged accessibility violations in its SF retail store. The comments on the article are, needless to say, wanky, with some complaining about the liberal activist agenda, allegations that the women are just out to make a quick buck, and the occasional disabled person chiming in on both sides of the issue.

Also, WTF is a "standing wheelchair?"

I hate stuff like this. Some simple building modifications is all that it would take to allow some people to be more independent and included, and people without disabilities bitch like having to walk up a ramp or look at modified seating is going to kill them.

You'd think they'd be less afraid. . .it would be harder for you to attack them, no? Then again, mobility devices like arm crutches and the like could double as excellent weapons. And getting rammed with a wheelchair isn't the best thing ever.

Yeah, I could kill someone with my cane. I have a BIG stick and I am not afraid to use it. :D

My grandma was in an electric wheelchair when I was a little girl. She used to run over people who blocked ramps and stuff. It was awesome! My grandma was so cool.

And of course, because there's a Terry Pratchett quote for EVERY occasion: "There’s a dwarfish saying: ‘All trees are felled at ground-level’—although this is said to be an excessively bowdlerized translation for a saw which more literally means, ‘When his hands are higher than your head, his groin is level with your teeth.’"

People bitch about walking up ramps? Why?! Ramps are awesome.

True dat. I preferred them even when I wasn't a spaz. Now that I have visual and physical probs they're a fucking godsend! Stairs fail so hard. At home I can scamper up mine like a dog, but if I did that in a store I'd probably get locked up!
