I. Um. Wot?

Strangest wank I've seen in a while. Clever troll, or really whacked-out person? You decide.

If you can't afford to buy a house that guarantees that your children don't have to share a room, don't have more children than you have bedrooms. No, srsly.

Srsly, if your children have to share a room, give them to someone more capable of taking care of them.

HEY NOW YOU ARE TWISTING MY WORDS!

Thank you for educating us, [info]teresina. o.O

*stares in shock, horror and confusion*

But what about *bunk beds*?

Those just add a new exciting element to youthful 'if you don't stop snoring I'm going to kill you with your own teddybear!' skirmishes.

Me and my sister lasted sharing a room until around oh, age eight.

My sister slept on the bottom bunk for a while, and if I was loud during the night, she'd reach her feet up through the slats the mattress was resting on, and kick me.

. . . after she decided she wanted the top bunk, we lasted another week of sharing a room, and that was it. >:)

I loved doing that to her!

Um. I mean. I was an awesome brother.

My sister really lost out on the bottom bunk. She was too little to kick me from below, and when I had chronic tummy bug she made the mistake of leaning out to ask if I was OK, just as I threw up over the side of the bed.

I didn't mean to be such a bad sister.

I used to do that to my sister all the time! Cause the slats are nailed to the rest of the bunk, the whole bunk bed would rise a foot in the air and Tina would scream.

Aaaah, good times. *sigh*

I used to do that to my roommate freshman year! I'd wake up to her snoring and kick the mattress until she rolled over and stopped snoring. That was until she moved to the middle room without warning while I was out performing in Rocky Horror. Oh was I pissed.

I used to do that to my sister all the time, too - except I would lift her entire mattress up by the slats. This was whenever I felt like it, not just if she was being loud/bratty. Serves her right for getting the top bunk.

*no issues here!*

It's sort of odd. To understand our sleeping arrangements, it's important to note we lived in a huge farmhouse which wasn't meant to be lived in during all four seasons. It was a... vacation house. Such as it were.

I had my own room, that I recall, and my sister had hers (or did we share? I don't remember...) and my brothers sort of shared a room, but there was a rather odd, flimsy "wall" between their rooms which didn't quite hit the top, so we used to throw toys over top of it, or play "volley ball", stuff like that.

When we renovated, we stayed in trailers. My parents bought two sets of bunk beds, one for my sister and I's room, one for the boys' room. When the house was done being renovated, my sister got the whole bunk bed, and put toys on the part she didn't sleep on, I got a different bed, and they split the boys' bunk beds, so they each had a single. Those mattresses, for the record, sucked ass.

Also, because I watch too much children's tv, the Berenstain Bear kids share a room, with bunk beds, and I'm pretty sure the kids in Ms Spider do too. e.e;

Fun (kinda long) story time :D

Backstory: Before my freshman year of college I got a letter that said, "Autumn, you will be living with Olga and Carolyn in Gordon 212," more or less. "Well, shit," the three of us thought, "that's going to be crowded." Before we got to school we decided that Olga would have the bottom bunk, Carolyn would have the top, and I'd have the lofted bed. When I arrived at school, however, I found out that Gordon 212 is a truly odd creature, and one of a small handful of two-room (natural) triples on campus. There was one bed and two desks in the room that had the hallway door and a room with bunk beds, one desk, and the closets leading off of the hallway room. I was the second person to arrive and hungrily eying the semi-single (as I am an only child and have always had my own room). Olga thought that I should have it, since there was no lofted bed.

So yay :D I sort of have my own room, Carolyn has the top bunk that she wanted, and Olga's on the bottom bunk. Keep in mind that these are all pretty teeny beds for college girls, especially college girls that have sleepovers.

At some point during the school year, I'm woken up by the connecting door semi-slamming, and I see Carolyn with a pillow and a blanket make a little nest on my floor. I turn over and make a mental note to wake her up in the morning, as we've got class at the same time. Then Olga comes in and whisper-pleads with Carolyn to just come back to bed. Carolyn then proceeds to hiss back, "No. I don't want to hear you two fucking."

Because Olga and her boyfriend had been getting it on in the lower bunk, and the shaking had woken Carolyn up.

Oooooh, I had the same thing happen to me.

Except my roommate had the top bunk.
And she was drunk and loud.
And she's a loud moaner at the soberest of times (I found out).
And she woke me up by her banging on the wall.
And I was a very sheltered virgin.

Such fun times, freshman year. Oh such fun.

I swear, Olga and her boyfriend provided much hilarity. *L* I can't get mad at Olga, because she was oh so earnestly proud of me, when I first had sex. And I couldn't get mad at her boyfriend (then) because he was black and Egyptian and the hottest thing I had ever seen. And I may or may not have gotten to see his peen. Umm.

Oh god! And that just reminded me of another funny Olga/Carolyn OTP story. We all went to school at Brandeis, which is a twenty minute train ride from Porter Square, so we were just west of Boston. Carolyn had grown up in Mattapan, which is on the south east side (I think). So pretty far from her house, but really close by college standards. During her senior year of highschool, this young (23 I think, maybe 24) physics teacher had started at her school. Carolyn had had a crush on him, he might have liked her, but she was in school then, so that was a big no-no. She still talked to him though, and she went to visit with him. And fooled around a little, because I guess he had liked her too. So she comes home and tells the two of us all about it. She then goes out to see him again and comes home again. In the interim, Olga had gone off somewhere, but left a large note written in Sharpie taped to the door to their room:

CAROLYN YOU BIG SLUT, HOW WAS PHYSICS?

It was hi-larious, let me tell you. Carolyn comes in, closes the hallway door, sees the note, and proceeds to slide down the wall. I died laughing. Incidentally, Carolyn also had the same response when she walked in on Olga and her friend watching gay porn.

I mean, have sex if you want, whatever, I'm not a prude; but having sex in a room with other people? Really uncool.

lol.
During the summer before my freshman year, my roommate and I had agreed that I would have the bottom and she would have the top.
The first night in the room she came back at night and crawled into bed with me.

I just kind of scooted to the other side and we never talked about it.

I figured she was drunk, I just hadn't been expecting that.

Ah, roomie sex.

My sophomore year roommate was pleasant in all respects except for her *(&%$! boyfriend, and utter lack of consideration re: vexing sexing. On one memorable occasion I ended up sleeping in the library to avoid going back and uncomfortably listening to them THREE FEET AWAY making long pork sammiches together.

There are reasons I violated dorm policy by bunking with my fiance for the one semester we were in the same dorm. One is he had the room to himself and only shared a bathroom with someone who violated policy almost as often as he did, thus managing a tacit gentleman's agreement on the situation. Two is that the first night I slept in my own dorm room, my roomie came home at 2 AM from her swing-shift job with boyfriend in tow and hit the lights, thinking I hadn't checked in yet. Never mind how she was the RA and should've known when the incoming mid-term students were due. Throw in her having the BF stay over more than once, and we formed a tacit ladies' agreement. I won't say how that wound up, though. Some things are too wanktastic, even with 20 years of distance between me and the sitch.

Oh LOL at long pork sammiches! :D

One of my friends in uni had an apartment with thinnish walls, and a loud roommate with a boyfriend. One night they had been particularly vocal, and this finally drive my friend bats so when her roomie came into the kitchen the next morning, my friend looks at her and says 'Ooh, Darren, oooh, ooh, oooh...'

They were much quieter after that. :D

That. Yeah. My dad is still going on about that.
