Word the fuck up. I can't help thinking all these people whining are either 1. college freshmen or younger, or 2. SPOILED LITTLE BITCHES. Or both.

Living with roommates for four years taught me more about conflict management and getting along with others than anything else I have done in my life. Sometimes it sucked, but dammit, it definitely made me a better person.

Also it gave me the ability to sleep through anything short of nuclear holocaust. Boyfriend never dormed it and can't sleep through anything, but I will cheerily snore through an air raid siren.

I totally sounded like more of a twit than I meant to there (...which is at all, I guess).

I think my point was that the people in the linked post somewhere going 'omg colleges want to make me SHARE a ROOM with another HUMAN who may in fact possibly do things that IRRITATE ME SLIGHTLY that's totally horrible!' are nutballs. There are definitely some psycho godawful roommates out there. (Crack whores? Fleas?)

But yeah, I totally sounded like a dumbshit there. Mea culpa.

	Yeah, your original comment would've read better if I'd seen it BEFORE all of the psycho-roommate horror stories that simultaneously make me feel better about my own freshman year experience (we just didn't get along, is all) and slightly queasy about the new crop of freshmen on my campus (I'm a faculty member).
