I was in the car with two coworkers. Somehow the two of them got to the topic of sleeping naked. "I could never. I'm afraid stuff will get...up there," said one. The other replies, "I'm afraid there will be a fire or something and I would have to flee the house naked and everyone will see me."

"Actually, I do in the summer and find it a lot more comfortable to sleep in the heat that way," I chimed in.

They gave each other this look and quickly changed the topic.

Seriously though, I'm not sure what she expected to get stuck "up there." Nor do I know why the fact that sometimes I am naked is that dismaying, but maybe to her that was the great revelation on where all her lost socks went.
