Oh lord, not this again...
There's been a trend lately in livejournal for people to create sockpuppets with the sole purpose of adding tons of people to their friends list, make a post or two filled with complete nonsense and then sit back and wait for people to get upset and run over to demand that they be removed from said troll's friends list.

On a personal level, I found it juvenile entertainment. But, it's getting saturated, too many people are doing it lately so it's no longer as funny, or as interesting in the drama department.

So... here we have our latest friends list troll, butt_buddy. Who has over 500 friends listed already. Of course, you have your standard drama over people rushing in to demand they be removed immediately. And then... you get the people just don't care.

And it seems butt_buddy can't handle that.

Minor wankery and getting rather old, but his reaction to people basically blowing him off or laughing at the whole thing was strangely humorous.

Yup, although I have more reasons for wanting to avoid drawing attention and interaction with the trolls. I don't care about my FL symmetry, but I do care about people threatening to cut my head off and fuck my slit throat.

And y'know, it was after butt_buddy friended me that I checked out a few things, and found that journal impersonating me, and that I've been able to link by association to the trolls who have cropped up out of the blue and threatened bodily harm. -_-

So I'm just banning them as they pop their heads up - sort of like Whack-A-Mole - and hoping that I now have enough evidence for LJ Abuse (they did suspend the impersonating journal PDQ).

Oh, I believe you. Butt_Buddy wasn't even associted with it, directly. But I was friended by two others at around the same time, and because I knew what Butt_Buddy was, I went over the other journals with a fine-tooth comb, and there are some connections to them, and in one of the others (expensivejeans, I believe) I noticed the "zannechaos3" one.

Oddly enough, after "zannechaos3" was suspended, "expensivejeans" dropped me from the friendlist, but isn't suspended.

	I saw that whole mess with the imposter as well as kko and the rest of the SomethingAwful LJ comm trolls. I wonder when LJ Abuse will do their job and just ~ban~ some of these assholes, not just suspend them, but contact their ISPs. Some of them are blatantly crossing the line from fairly harmless trolling and baiting into genuine harassment. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
