Go off in the corner with your roast beef sandwich, while we build a better World.
Meanie cow-raping school district fires bold rebel for secretly teaching veganism in art class, instead of, um, art.

The former teacher, Dave Warwak, leaves no news article combox untouched in his quest, under the name inslidedotcom.

"teach them how Artists shape and guide morals in society With this knowledge, they can deal with the real world Use their art to create positive change Live longer Heal the earth I model what I teach I have been railroaded Posts removed You celebrate I appeal You pay Meat and Dairy laughs I cry"

Poetry.

And as his combox name might suggest, he has a website.

Yes, this is the man I want to teach MY children about art.

Edit: I turned off comment notification (ow, my inbox) so if anyone has any links to this guy wanking elsewhere (since he's wanked in two news articles at least, I'm sure there's more and will be more) please drop a comment in [info]joye's journal and I'll edit the post. Thanks.

Or the history teacher who'd abandon lessons once a week and teach us tai chi chuan instead.

Though in truth, it was pretty cool to be learning a martial art, and the meditative aspects of it helped us build concentration skills.

And the choir teacher who was a Baptist minister, Majored in Theology, had no Musical degree, and publicly insulted two Wiccan students.

In upper secondary, my psychology teacher had also majored in theology and tended to give everything a heavily Christian bent. Argh.

Then again, I had the best maths teacher. In the spring, he'd start every second lesson with "You know, the weather's great. Let's go outside and play [the Finnish equivalent of] baseball.".

Or bold rebel college English teacher of mine who told us that the MJ-12 documents were real (with the classic argument of "If you can't prove that they're fake, then they're real!) and that Reagan controlled people with his voice and Bush Sr. gave people seizures with his. Or maybe the other way around, I forget. She also applauded one of her students who went around wearing an actual tinfoil hat so that the CIA could not beam rays into her brain.

For the longest time, I was convinced that all Democrats and all feminists were like her, and I sooooo did not want to be either. At least I had better professors in graduate school.

I had an gym teacher in grade seven who felt up a bunch of girls. Our principal, druinken dumbfuckgreat man that he was, postulated that it might have been their t-shirts and shorts that moved him to such actions.

Yeah, fuckwit; what else are we gonna wear in a tiny stifling no-A/C gym in June!?

Ultimately the PTA mums terrorised both principal AND teacher and the last I saw the latter (oh god, that was like - ten years ago), he was forbidden to teach gym and had gained roughly 150 pounds. Looked miserable too.

*whistles schadenfreude song*

Dumb fuck used to let me get bullied. On the up-side, his ignoring me altogether due to my sticklike physique saved me from hand in shirt. I just got to watch my class have breakdowns. Fun fun fun okay.

...This is why I'm no longer Catholic. Well, part of the reason.

Mine was an anthropology professor who had a total breakdown in class on the first day because her marriage was coming apart. And then over the course of the semester she had a number of alternative medical practitioners come in and talk to us - that wasn't bad, that was fun - but it all wound up with a channeler who came in and channeled a 200-year-old Jesuit priest for us. Who also was the professor's therapist and who counseled her to spend the last day of class - these were once-a-week 3-hour classes - telling us all about the rest of her breakdown and her suicide attempt over the previous three months.

The archaeology professor who was rumored to have had an affair with a student while on a dig - taking the dig's only Jeep with him and the student to a local town, stranding the rest of the students there - who ended up leaving the school under the shadow of rumors that he'd plagiarized on his dissertation and who ended up selling used cars in town was almost normal by comparison.

a) What horrible acts kids had performed AS A DIRECT RESULT of reading horror novels or watching MTV.

b) The process, in graphic detail, of clubbing and skinning baby seals.

She also, at one point, told one of my classmates that the Santa Claus hat he was making was actually a penis. And asked if it was his.
