Go off in the corner with your roast beef sandwich, while we build a better World.
Meanie cow-raping school district fires bold rebel for secretly teaching veganism in art class, instead of, um, art.

The former teacher, Dave Warwak, leaves no news article combox untouched in his quest, under the name inslidedotcom.

"teach them how Artists shape and guide morals in society With this knowledge, they can deal with the real world Use their art to create positive change Live longer Heal the earth I model what I teach I have been railroaded Posts removed You celebrate I appeal You pay Meat and Dairy laughs I cry"

Poetry.

And as his combox name might suggest, he has a website.

Yes, this is the man I want to teach MY children about art.

Edit: I turned off comment notification (ow, my inbox) so if anyone has any links to this guy wanking elsewhere (since he's wanked in two news articles at least, I'm sure there's more and will be more) please drop a comment in [info]joye's journal and I'll edit the post. Thanks.

Mine was an anthropology professor who had a total breakdown in class on the first day because her marriage was coming apart. And then over the course of the semester she had a number of alternative medical practitioners come in and talk to us - that wasn't bad, that was fun - but it all wound up with a channeler who came in and channeled a 200-year-old Jesuit priest for us. Who also was the professor's therapist and who counseled her to spend the last day of class - these were once-a-week 3-hour classes - telling us all about the rest of her breakdown and her suicide attempt over the previous three months.

The archaeology professor who was rumored to have had an affair with a student while on a dig - taking the dig's only Jeep with him and the student to a local town, stranding the rest of the students there - who ended up leaving the school under the shadow of rumors that he'd plagiarized on his dissertation and who ended up selling used cars in town was almost normal by comparison.

The latter reminds me vaguely of my archaeology professor, who told us all in great detail about the affair he had had with his (female) archaeology professor when he was in college. He was a good teacher overall and a pretty interesting guy, he just... didn't really have any idea of the boundaries of TMI. (Personally, I was somewhat more disturbed by the girl who wistfully said that he was very lucky, because she had always wanted to have an affair with a professor. Not a particular one, just... any professor.)

Wow. And people think scientists are boring.

Yup. And the Biology department was a complete hotbed of scandal, from what I understand. One of my friends, who'd graduated a couple of years before I did, told us all sorts of gossip about what had been going on there. Including a roommate of hers who'd get drunk and complain about the professor with whom she was sleeping to get a better grade.

It makes me wonder what else was going on in the departments I knew nothing about.

See, and art school was the exact opposite of this. I'd sit around at parties, drinking wine, listening to jazz and watching my friends try to be trendy and artsy and I was sitting there wondering what happened to all the body painting, drugs and orgies. I was so bitterly disappointed.

Obviously I should have stuck to my childhood dream of being a scientist. Unfortunately I suck at both maths, physics and remembering ridiculously long names.
