cat abuse
Small and a little over a month old, but still entertaining.
[EDIT: This video has caused wank before when it first came out in January '07. [info]mindset provides links: 1 2 3]

Video of a "cat spa" automatic bath invention is posted at DampCats.com, sparking cries of "animal cruelty" and resulting naysayers.

Some quotes:

Emma: That IS animal cruelty - whoever designed this contraption has absolutely no understanding of a cats natural behaviour and/or needs. I work with them day in and day out and I’ve seen cats under stress - this is possibly one of the most abusive things I’ve ever seen done to an animal - goondess you can see how distressed it is! This “invention” is an utterly dispicable idea. I cannot stress how disgusted I am with this.

Iy: bande d’abrutis, c’est débile, aussi débile que d’aller crever en Irak
[[info]electricwitch translates: "bunch of idiots, it´s moronic, as moronic as going to die in Iraque."]

big gaz: emma. SHUT THE FUK UP U DICK. ITS FUNNY THATS ALL. THE CAT MUST OF HAD A BAD SMELL AND NEEDED WASHED GROW UP U SAD COW

Yes, it has. In another place, though, I think? It was reported, though.

Not as I recall, though if you have a link, that'd be cool and I'll edit the post accordingly.

I have since checked [info]otf_wank, [info]clairvoyantwank, and [info]random_lounge with no success though.

My weak French translation skills, let me show you them:

Something about a band of brothers or something, that's weak, as weak as going to war in Iraq. After hoc, therefore something else hoc.

Okay, I'm officially a bad person. I feel sorry for the cat, but setting it to the bouncy Little Mermaid music made me LOL.

Cats have no capability of being cruel, they merely defend themselves when they feel threatened, for example

WUT? Has she ever seen a cat with an injured rodent? It might be a natural instinct, but it is the picture of cruelty.

Okay, this is the first time I've watched that vid, and I have to say that afterwards that cat is quietly plotting the deaths of everyone involved.

Still, damn funny though.

Why can't we get the sequel to the video instead of the wank, where the cat exacts clawful revenge on everyone?

I have a 20+lb half WILD CAT and I hand wash her in the tub. It’s not that hard, you just train your cat not to claw skin (tell them no and lift their paw every time they do it, they get the picture after about three times.)

IT'S NOT THAT HARD! *sporfle* Indeed.

... I think they left out the part where the half WILD CAT was forced to smoke a joint, prior.

Aw. I couldn't watch it. I felt so bad for the cat I had to turn it off.

I can see how this would help in situations were the cat needs to be washed and it is very violent when you try, but it is distressing. My cat once rolled in Lysol and I had to wash her. I was in tears by the time I was done.

I'm a big softy, aren't I?

I laughed the first few times I watched this, even though I felt bad. But I don't think I could sit there and watch the kitty get so distressed if I were there in person.

I don't see it as specifically cruel. Yes, the cat is freaked out, understandably. Considering it's human just stuck it in a big container that was suddenly filled with water. But, being someone who has washed a cat (and three dogs on the same day due to skunk), if I had this thing available, I probably would have used it. Saved the expense on antibiotic cream and bandaids. :( Ranch cats do NOT like being bathed.

Re: Cat bathing - the thing that gets me is the sad yeowling noises. I mean, they generally come at the end of a frantic clawing, climbing escape attempt, but it's still pitiful.

Re: Cat video - it feels wrongly amusing. But considering how long it is? Seems as though the cat spa bath is a lot shorter than a hand-to-hand combat bath.

Video= pitiful. Wankers overreact- I wouln't label it animal cruelty, but it's not a brilliant idea, either.

Actual machine= Worried about eyes, ears, and nose. Water and soap shouldn't get in those parts. And human touch is very important to domesticated animals.

But...if you absolutely can't wash your cat by hand, then I would use the machine.

And the music- Funny, but wrong:)
